"I attended Milwaukie Academy of the Arts my first and second year of high school. It was a wonderful experience; the teachers are the most creative, collaberative, and caring bunch. "I attended Milwaukie Academy of the Arts my first and second year of high school. It was a wonderful experience; the teachers are the most creative, collaberative, and caring bunch. They are very passionate about the subjects they teach and make it as interesting and clear to learn as possible. As you can assume from the school title, it's an artsy school. You don't have to be an excellent artist or anything like that to get in, but if you prefer a more hands on, visual learning process this is a great school! The main objective of the school is really academics. MAA is most successful in encouraging and teaching its students the importance of education, I believe. The school has a short but excellent record. MAA is its own school, but it is inside Milwaukie High School, having one hallway to itself. They share all electives with Milwaukie High School, and we participate in all their wonderful timeless traditions. MAA does not have many after school programs of its own, although the students dominate almost all the arts based after school and before school programs shared by Milwaukie High School. - Also, I'm not sure if you can consider this an after school activity, but it is a great perk to being a student of MAA! - There is one teacher in MAA that stays everyday after school to keep his classroom open to students who want to get some work done or just chill quietly and chat. (Cool huh?.. Well, at least I thought it was cool) Anyways, if you just moved into the North Clackamas School District, or a district close by, definitely consider this school before any other! ~Kelsey"
