Joseph Cannizzo Jr. is a passionate and accomplished attorney with expertise in multiple areas of law. Graduating from the Rutgers School of Law, Camden, in May 2019, he participated in the Honorable Judith H. Wizmur Bankruptcy Pro Bono Project and clerked at Drinkwater & Goldstein during his time studying. He gained valuable experience in personal injury litigation that has helped him fight against elder abuse or neglect by holding nursing homes and assisted living communities accountable for their standards of care.

With over a decade of working experience at geriatric care facilities, Joseph has a deep understanding of the importance of high-quality care for elders. After earning his Juris Doctor degree from Rutgers, he pursued further academic excellence, obtaining a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree at William S. Boyd School of Law at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. There he specialized in Casino Gaming Law & Regulation and authored a peer-reviewed legal treatise called “Hoagies & Hot Slots: How Convenience Store Slot Parlors Could Revive Atlantic City”. It was published by the International Center for Gaming Regulation.

Currently serving as the Managing attorney at Spodek Law Group’s Birmingham Alabama Office, Joseph is licensed to practice law in Alabama Bar, United States Federal Court for Northern Districts of Alabama/Southern Districts of Alabama/Western Districts of Texas/Eastern Districts Of Michigan. His practice areas are diverse covering civil right issues, governmental law municipal court matters gaming law transactional law real property, etc.

Joseph has been a licensed New Jersey Real Estate Salesperson which gives him an edge while practicing real properties cases as well as helping clients with transactions related to real estate sales/ purchase/ lease agreements or disputes related to it.

Joseph is an active member/participant/member council/committee member on various associations such as National Police Accountability Project (NPAP), National LGBTQ Bar Association, American Bar AssociationNational Lawyers GuildAlabama Bar Association.
